Some Mexico explosion victims too burned to be identified - prosecutor

The state prosecutor in Mexico City says the bodies of some of the 31 people killed in an explosion at a fireworks market outside the city are so badly charred that neither their age nor gender can immediately be determined.

Prosecutor Alejandro Gomez said so far, only 13 bodies had been identified.

He said forensic experts were now carrying out DNA tests to identify the blackened remains.

More than 70 people were also injured in the explosion.

Among them were three badly burned children who are due to be taken to a hospital in the US for treatment.
