St. Lucia Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre
St. Lucia Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre will travel to Barbados to meet with the United States Ambassador to explore potential opportunities for additional support and assistance to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force.
The Prime Minister will participate in a series of high-level discussions and consultations on crime reduction measures and security assistance.
These are aimed at developing workable crime-fighting strategies both at the policy and tactical levels.
A record 74 murders were committed in St. Lucia in 2021. This equates to a homicide rate of 40 per 100,000 people, placing it among the top five countries with the highest homicide rates in Latin America and the Caribbean in that year.
