The St. Thomas police are now investigating a case in which a 22-year-old man committed suicide on Friday, after he reportedly caught his girlfriend with another man.
The dead man has been identified as Dennis Cornwall, otherwise called "Keno", of Cottage Pen, Morant Bay.
According to police reports, about 3pm, a neighbour went to Mr. Cornwall’s house, where his body was seen hanging.
Residents reported that Mr.Cornwall took his life after the breakdown of his relationship with his girlfriend. He had accused her of cheating on him.
The residents told our correspondent that things took a turn for the worse on Friday, when Mr. Cornwall reportedly found the woman in the company of another man.
They say Mr.Cornwall went to a nearby shop, where he purchased a bottle of rum, a bottle of Pepsi, and cornmeal.
It is believed that after consuming a mixture of the three products, Mr.Cornwall hanged himself.
The empty bottles were found at the scene.
Our St. Thomas correspondent reports that this is the second suicide in the parish in five days.
