St. Thomas Parish Council drops plan to take the NWC to court

The St. Thomas Parish Council has shelved plans to take the National Water Commission, NWC, to court for what it claimed was non-performance.

RJR News understand that the decision was made following the intervention of  Local Government Minister Noel Arscott. Mr Arscott met with Mayor of  Morant Bay Ludlow Mattison, Member of  Parliament Dr. Fenton Ferguson and Secretary Manager Errol Greene while on a visit to the parish on Wednesday.

While the Councilors are still concerned about the performance of  the NWC they have decided to hold off  on legal action. At the last Council meeting in July, the Councilors directed that legal action be taken against the entity for the irregular supply of  water while the commodity was being taken from the parish to serve other areas.
