Strong earth tremor felt in parts of Jamaica's capital

A strong earth tremor was felt in sections of Jamaica's capital city, Kingston, on Friday morning. It occurred about 12:35. RJR News received calls that it was felt in several communities including Mona, Jacks Hills, Meadowbrook and Stadium Gardens.

It is reported that, based on the intensity, it triggered car alarms. This is the second such occurrence in two weeks.

On September 8 a minor earthquake was felt in the Corporate Area and St. Catherine. The Earthquake Unit reported that it had a magnitude of 3.6 with the epicentre 15 kilometres north of Spanish Town.
