The Kingston Western Police have laid charges against one of the suspects involved in the shooting death of a 16-year-old girl in Arnett Gardens, a little over a week ago.
Taje Squire, a 23-year-old resident of Albion Avenue, has been charged for the murder of Bianca Thompson, otherwise called "Abby", a student of St. Andrew Technical High School.
Investigators say about 11 p.m. on February 24, the teenager, who was also a resident of Albion Avenue, was visiting a friend's home when she was attacked and shot several times by a group of hoodlums.
She died on the spot.
The men opened fire on the wooden house forcing the occupants to take evasive action.
More than sixteen spent casings were found at the scene.
Senior Superintendent Michael Phipps, head of the Kingston Western Police, told Radio Jamaica News that Squire was captured during a police operation.
Squire has also been charged with shooting with intent, possession of prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition and making use of firearm to commit a felony.
SSP Phipps said the cops are searching for three other suspects in the case.
They have been identified by their aliases "Saleem", "?Sherlando" and "Yashi-Pee".
He said the men must immediately surrender to the Denham Town Police.
