Suspect in murder of police woman dies in hospital

The detainee who was severely beaten while in custody at the Hunts Bay Lock-Up has died.

Kemar Anderson,27, succumbed to his injuries on Friday afternoon at the Kingston Public Hospital after being in a coma for nearly two weeks.
     
It's reported that he was attacked by other detainees in the lock-up during a dispute on July 18.
  
Anderson was taken into custody in connection with the murder of  Constable Crystal Thomas who was shot two weeks ago when gunmen hijacked a mini bus in which she was a passenger.
     
A second suspect was also held.
