A suspect was fatally shot, reportedly during a confrontation with the police, in the community of Hope Flats in St. Andrew on Tuesday.
He has been identified as 28-year-old Jerome Belmondo McDonald, a resident of Sunrise Crescent, Kingston 19.
It's reported that, about 11:50 a.m., members of the Area 4 Fugitive Apprehension Team carried out a raid in the community in search of the suspect.
The cops alleged that during a running gun battle, McDonald was shot and a firearm seized.
He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
