Teacher found dead at home

For the third time in one week, the Old Harbour High School family in St. Catherine has been plunged into mourning.

The latest incident to grip the institution occurred Saturday morning after a teacher was found murdered inside his Manchester home.

The body of Trevor Sheckleford, 50, was found at his Grove Lane home in Mandeville.

The residents called the police after they found Mr. Sheckleford's Toyota Mark Two motor car partially burnt in front of his home just after 9 o'clock Saturday morning.

The lawmen who responded searched the house and found Mr. Sheckleford's body in the living room.

He had been stabbed several times.

The house was also ransacked.

Linton Weir, Principal of Old Harbour High School, said while news of Mr. Sheckleford's death has reached the teaching staff, the general school population is yet to hear.

He adds that since last week, Guidance Counsellors have been offering their services to students regarding another incident and this will be extended to teachers.

Mr. Sheckleford had been on three years study leave.
