A teenager, who the police say was involved in the drugs
for gun trade between Jamaica
and Haiti, was Friday night
shot dead on the Hellshire
Beach in St. Catherine.
He is 18-year-old Mackero Manderson who works as a fisherman on the Hellshire Beach.
It is reported that just before midnight residents heard explosions and called the police.
When the police responded they found Mr. Manderson's bullet riddled body on the beach front.
The police say a Haitian 50 dollar bill was taken from his trousers pocket when his body was searched.
Speaking with the RJR News Centre Friday morning Acting Crime Chief for the St. Catherine South Police Division Detective Inspector Carl Malcolm said the Hellshire Beach is an area of concern.
Mr. Manderson's killing is the third in the last month, believed to be linked to the drugs for guns trade.
