Three foreigners are in police custody in relation to suspicion that they are in breach of the Proceeds of Crime Act. They are facing money laundering charges.
Of the three, two are women from Suriname and a man from French Guiana.
They were held on Sunday afternoon at Norman Manley International Airport with concealed money in four different currencies - US$93,000, SRD$325 (Surinamese dollars), £150 and J$50 were seized by detectives from the narcotics division.
The police say the three people were about to board a Fly Jamaica flight to Guyana when they were accosted.
