Three men, including two motorcyclists, died in separate motor vehicle crashes on Monday in St. Ann.
In the first incident on the Faith's Pen main road in Moneague, 21-year-old Nikoi Campbell, otherwise called 'Nick', died when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a truck and fell into a gully.
The pillion rider is in serious condition in hospital. One of his feet was severed.
It's reported that, about 10:50 a.m., the motorcycle and truck were travelling in opposite directions, when on reaching a section of the main road, the drivers attempted to make a right turn at the same time, resulting in a collision.
The motorcycle fell into a nearby gully, causing serious injuries to the driver and pillion rider.
Mr. Campbell was rushed to Moneague Health Centre where he was pronounced dead, while the pillion was assisted to the St. Ann's Bay Regional Hospital in an unconscious state with a severed foot.
The truck driver was not injured.
In the second incident involving a motorcyclist, 19-year-old Jaden Johnson, of Brownsville, Claremont, died after he collided with a truck along the Beechamville main road, also in Claremont.
It is reported that sometime after 1 p.m., Johnson hit a student in the vicinity of Fern Court High School and subsequently lost control of the motorcycle which collided with the truck that was in the opposite lane.
He was thrown from the motorcycle and underneath the truck, resulting in serious head injuries.
Johnson was assisted by a police team to St. Ann's Bay Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The student was treated for minor injuries.
Meanwhile, a 66-year-old farmer of Prickly Pole in St. Ann was the third road fatality in the parish on Monday.
Michael Allen was among several people who were rushed to St. Ann's Bay Regional Hospital after a Toyota Hiace minibus in which they were travelling overturned on the Faith's Pen main road about 6 p.m.
The bus reportedly developed a mechanical problem and, in an effort to stop the out-of-control vehicle, the driver drove up a slope beside the road. But the vehicle overturned and fell onto the road.
Several passengers were injured and taken to hospital where Mr. Allen died.
