Three men were shot and killed during a reported shootout with the police in Runaway Bay, St. Ann, on Wednesday night.
It's reported that shortly before 9 o'clock, a police team conducted a special intelligence operation to accost a group of men travelling in a white Toyota Probox who were reportedly searching for a bartender.
The police team intercepted the vehicle with four men aboard.
One man reportedly ran from the vehicle, opening fire at the police. The police say they were also fired on by the passenger from the front passenger seat.
The police team returned fire in the direction of the men.
When the shooting stopped, the three remaining unidentified male occupants of the vehicle were seen suffering from bullet wounds.
Two illegal firearms were reportedly seized and the injured men were transported to St. Ann's Bay Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The fourth man is being sought by the police.
