Traffic changes to facilitate the premiere of the Bob Marley: One Love Hollywood film at Carib Theatre in Cross Roads, St. Andrew are in effect.

The temporary restrictions, which include the closure of Slipe Road, will continue until 12 a.m. Wednesday.

Sections of Half Way Tree, Retirement and Marescaux roads will facilitate one way traffic only.

Members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force are expected to be at control points to assist motorists who may not be aware of the changes.

According to the Gleaner, some business operators on Slipe Road have complained of inadequate notice and loss of revenue.

Communications Manager at the National Works Agency, Stephen Shaw, says every effort has been made to minimise the impact of the traffic changes on commuters and businesses.

"If the destination of an individual is, let us say Courts, or Singer, or bank or wherever, then the police will allow them or should allow them based on the discussion - once it is that they are reasonably satisfied that that is where the persons are heading. And so there shouldn't be an issue.

"I think where we may see a bit of a challenge is the queuing of persons to get into the space, because of course the police would have to check after midday as to satisfy themselves that the persons or the individuals are going to X or Y or Z place," he said.

Mr. Shaw was speaking Tuesday on the Morning Agenda on Power 106.
