Trump's Republicans hold narrow edge in fight for US House majority

Donald Trump's Republican Party is narrowly short of a majority in the House of Representatives.

Projections are Republicans will win at least 215 House seats and the Democrats 208 as counting continues.

A party needs 218 for a majority.

If the Republicans are successful, it would add to their victories in the Senate and the White House, handing Trump almost complete control over the levers of government.

Meanwhile, Trump says no price is too high to deport people living in the US illegally.

Throughout the presidential campaign, the president-elect pledged to crackdown on immigration.
