JLP Campaign Chairman Dr Christopher Tufton
Dr. Christopher Tufton, Jamaica Labour Party Campaign Committee Chairman, has declared that he is not intimidated by threats of legal action, while insisting that a recording of retired legislator K D Knight that was played at the party's mass rally on Sunday was not doctored.
Mr Knight has said the recording falsely suggested he has no confidence that People's National Party President Mark Golding can lead Jamaica.
He has threatened to sue Dr Tufton and the JLP over the playing of the recording.
But Dr Tufton, responding on Tuesday morning, stood firm in his assertion that his claim was accurate, saying the comments by Mr Knight were made during the PNP's internal presidential challenge in September 2019 in relation to an endowment fund.
He said, while the context was different, Mr Knight did question Mr Golding's suitability for leadership of the PNP.
