The police have charged two men for the death of a man who succumbed to severe injuries he received after being set on fire in an arson attack in April.
Those charged are 57-year-old security guard Garnet Dale, otherwise called 'Lazarus', and 42-year-old Kemar Wilson, both of Glen Drive in Kingston.
They are charged in relation to murder of 34-year-old Kemar Smith, who lived in the community.
Investigators had reported that on Saturday, April 27, Smith and people from the community had a verbal dispute, during which he was set upon by Dale and Wilson who doused him with gasoline and set him ablaze.
Smith, upon realising that he was on fire, quickly removed his clothing and jumped into a container of water in an effort to extinguish the flames.
He then ran to the Constant Spring police station with severe burns to his body.
He was assisted to hospital where he was admitted in serious but stable condition.
But on Tuesday, May 2, Smith died of his injuries.
Dale and Wilson were charged on Friday, October 11 after being questioned in the presence of their attorneys.
Their court date is being finalised.
