The Union of Clerical Administrative and Supervisory Employees [UCASE]] and the management of Caribbean Cement Company have reached a new wage and fringe benefits agreement.
The agreement, which covers the period July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2027, was signed on Monday following an 18-month stalemate between the parties.
Under the agreement, production workers are to receive a 21 per cent wage increase over the contract period.
Other highlights of the agreement include Call Out Allowance, moving from $4,400 to $5,290 dollars, an increase in scholarship benefits for children of employees, motor vehicle loans increases and payment for the profit sharing scheme of two per cent of basic pay.
The workers will also benefit from a four weeks' pay signing bonus.
The agreement, concluded at the Ministry of Labour, also provides for health and safety, and for special discomfort and environmental matters to be discussed at a future date between the management and the union.
