Six gang members who murdered 14-year-old
Jamaican, Shaquille Smith in London
last August, were sentenced to life in prison on Thursday.
Before the sentence was handed down in the Old Bailey Criminal court, prosecutors argued that Smith was stabbed to death by the gang members who had violence on their mind.
The court also heard that the gang members' original target was a friend of the Jamaican youth who ran off before the attack.
Shaquille, who travelled to Jamaica frequently, had urged his mother to send him to Jamaica to live because he would have been close to his friends.
He was sitting on a bench near his house with his sister when they were attacked by the group.
His sister was cut across the neck and face.
The convicts, all of East London addresses, were found guilty of the murder last month.
