Upsurge in theft of street lamps in Clarendon

There has been an upsurge in the theft of lamps from the streets of the central parish of  Clarendon .
    

According to Winston Maragh, the opposition Jamaica Labour Party’s (JLP) councilor for the Rocky Point division the theft of the street lights has been happening too frequently.
  

At a recent meeting of the parish council, Maragh said over a fortnight ago a lamp was allegedly stolen from a main road leading to the community of Mitchell Town. Eight others were also stolen, seven of which came  from the Portland Cottage .   

He told the Council that they have strong suspicions about the identities of the culprits, so other Councilors should be alert .    

He said the matter has been reported to the Jamaica Public Service (JPS), so they can launch their own investigation.
