Despite a reduction in the number of events, the organizers of the Gibson McCook Relays are promising an exciting day of activities come February 28 when the 49th staging of the event takes place at the National Stadium.
More than 1500 athletes from 77 schools and institutions, are expected to converge inside the National Stadium for an exhilarating day of athletics at this year's staging.
Chairman for entries and registration, Reverend Ryan Peralto, is anticipating that the truncated programme will intensify the competition on the track and in the field.
The Gibson McCook Relays will feature 32 relays and 10 individual events. The meet is scheduled to run from 4:00-9:00 pm with live coverage on TVJ, TVJ SN, 1spotmedia and Hitz 92 FM. The official launch was held on Thursday at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.
