The body of 23-year-old Kasheda Brown, otherwise called "Kash", of Windsor St. Elizabeth, was found washed up on the banks of the Siloah River on Thursday.
Her decomposing body was found about 1:00 p.m. by residents assisted by members of the Jamaica Defence Force and the St. Elizabeth police.
Brown reportedly left home about 5:30 a.m. on Sunday.
When she did not return, a report was made to the Siloah Police.
Sometime later that morning it was reported that Ms. Brown was spotted in the vicinity of the Siloah River at Windsor Bridge.
A search was launched by local divers after clothing belonging to Ms. Brown was found on the banks of the river.
On Wednesday, residents had staged a demonstration to protest the lack of assistance from the police and the JDF in searching for the woman.
With the assistance of the police and the JDF, residents widened their search on Thursday, resulting in the recovery of Ms Brown's partially decomposing body about a mile from where her clothes were found on Sunday.
