24-year-old University of Guyana Student, Alana Seebaran, wowed the judges and defeated 35 other participants to take the crown in the Miss India Worldwide Pageant.
She also won the title of Best talent. Her prize includes US$7,000.
Kuwait was 1st runner-up and Australia 2nd runner-up.
Seebaran hopes to one day start her own charitable organization for battered women in Guyana.
