Barbados and China strengthen diplomatic ties

Barbados and the People's Republic of China have strengthened their diplomatic ties in the fields of 5G technology, air transport, and the Global Development Initiative.

The blue economy and maritime cooperation between China and Barbados was also discussed during a recent meeting.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade in Barbados, Kerrie Symmonds sought to reassure that nearly all Global Development Initiative objectives are compatible with the development objectives recognized by Prime Minister Mia Mottley.

Barbados and China established diplomatic relations on May 30, 1977.
