Barbados and Antigua and Barbuda have made the
top 50 list of nations in the annual Human Development Index of the United
Nations.
The index ranks 182 countries or territories according to their wealth, education levels and life expectancy.
Norway enjoys the world's highest quality of life while Barbados tops the Caribbean, coming in at number 37.
Antigua is at number 47.
The only Caribbean nations outside of the top 100 are Guyana and Haiti.
Jamaica and Belize are among seven countries that dropped more than two places on the index.
