A Belize real estate developer, Andris Pukke, has been charged by US authorities with wire fraud and engaging in unlawful monetary transactions in connection with the alleged embezzlement of more than US$13 million from Sanctuary Belize, a real estate development in Belize that he directed and controlled.
The indictment was unsealed in a Manhattan federal court yesterday.
Pukke was arrested yesterday in Los Angeles, and has since been taken before the Central District of California.
