The son of a prominent St. Lucian doctor has appeared in
court charged with her murder.
31-year-old Andrew Kagan Richardson, has been charged for the murder of Dr. Trona Bennett, a gynaecologist at a private hospital.
She was found dead at her home on January 13.
It is alleged that she was struck in the head with a blunt object and might have also been strangled.
Police in St. Lucia are also appealing for public help in solving the island's second murder of the year.
Alexandrine Victor, a 33-year-old mother of four, was shot in the chest by a masked man when she looked through her window after hearing someone tap on the louvres.
Her boyfriend was injured by a bullet fragment.
