The only psychiatric hospital in Barbados is facing the prospect of further industrial action, unless the Ministry of the Civil Service responds to a number of grievances aired by the staff.
While not stating expressly that employees will strike, the union representing workers at Black Rock Psychiatric Hospital on Wednesday warned that it would not wait forever for action.
More than a dozen nurses staged a two-day sick-out on July 9 and 10 to highlight a number of grievances, including what they characterised as deplorable working conditions, and having to work longer-than-normal shifts, without compensation.
