13 officials graduate as certified boxing judges

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Denise Walters

The Jamaica Boxing Board of Control (JBBC) and GC Foster College hosted its first boxing officials graduation under the recently announced partnership to train officials for the sport.

Twenty trainee officials began the one month intensive course from October 13 to November 5, totalling eight sessions. However, only thirteen completed it and were part of the graduation exercise.

Among the graduates, Shellian Richards was the only staff member at the GC Foster College, the others were students.

Kevin Stupart who is a member of the JBBC executive, and an AIBA-trained and certified instructor, conducted the training exercise. The graduation was held on Tuesday at the college.
