The 45th staging of the popular Gibson McCook Relays which had been set for March 27 at the National Stadium, has been removed from this year's JAAA calendar of events until further notice.

A release from chairman, Professor Rainford Wilks and the Organizing Committee said the decision was taken reluctantly, due to the unprecedented rise in cases of the COVID-19 virus nationally, and Kingston and St Andrew in particular.

The release added that following several meetings of the organizing committee, a decision was taken that in the interest of athletes, their coaches and all personnel essential to the successful staging of the relays, it would be best to delay announcing a revised date until further assessment of the pros and cons of hosting the event this year.
