The short-course specialist is to swim in heat six of eight in the event. She'll also contend with Ruta Meilutyte and Yulia Efimova who beat her in the 100 metres.
Atkinson competed in the 50 metre butterfly Friday, and clocked 27.01 seconds for 31st overall.
Sidrell Williams returned to competition in the 50 metre freestyle. He returned 24.15 seconds to place 59th of the 115 swimmers who lined up for the event.
