Another gold for Alia in FINA World Cup series

Alia Atkinson followed up her national record on Friday with another gold medal performance on Saturday's second and final day of the last meet of the FINA World Cup series in Dubai.

Atkinson posted 30.26 seconds to win the 50 meter breaststroke final ahead of American Molly Hannis who clocked 30.54.

Atkinson also secured a bronze in the 50 meter butterfly clocking 26.95 seconds behind American Felicia Lee who posted 26.69.

She was however 8th in the 200 meter breaststroke final, clocking 2: 31.85 seconds in the event which was won by Vikotira Gunes of turkey in 2:22.87 seconds.

Atkinson ended fourth overall in the World Cup series rankings with 174 points behind Hungarian winner Katinka Hozzu who amassed 669 points.
