Aquatic Sports Association of Jamaica (ASAJ) president Martin Lyn has broken his silence on the suspension handed down to Kaizen Swim Club coach Rory Alvaranga.
Questions have been raised by some council members about the length of the ban, but Lyn says it’s an indication of the seriousness with which the matter was handled.
There were also questions about whether council members were given the option to give suggestions of what they thought would have been an appropriate sanction, but Lyn says the manner in which the majority voted also sends a signal. Alvaranga's suspension took effect on June 15 of this year.
