Nickel Ashmeade recorded the only Jamaican victory on day one of the two-day Glasgow Diamond League meet in Scotland, where double Olympic silver medalist Yohan Blake was carted off with a hamstring injury.
Ashmeade who was disqualified for a false start in his outing in Paris last weekend, redeemed himself by clocking a season's best 9.97 seconds to win the men's 100 metres.
Ashmeade's winning time of 9.97 was the fastest ever recorded on Scottish soil for the 100 meters.
American Mike Rodgers clocked the same time for 2nd, while Nesta Carter notched a season's best 9.98 for 3rd in the blanket finish.
Blake in the meantime, was left in agony as he pulled up midway the race clutching his hamstring.
Kemar Bailey-Cole had earlier clocked a season's best 10.03 seconds to win the 'B' race ahead of compatriot Kimmari Roach 10.26 secs.
Warren Weir was the next best placed Jamaican on the day clocking 20.30 for 2nd place in the men's 200 metres behind inform Panamanian winner Alonso Edward 20:25.
Novlene Williams-Mills clocked 50.60 for 3rd place in the women's 400 meters behind American winner Francena McCorory 49.93. Sanya Richards-Ross was second.
However, Williams-Mills stayed ahead in the Diamond race standings with 14 points.
Stephanie McPherson was 4th in 50.98.
National champion Andrew Riley and world leader Hansle Parchment were credited with the same time of 13.31 as they ended 4th and 5th respectively in the men's 110m hurdles.
Great Britain's William Sharman won the event in 13.21.
