Gary Subratie's classy chestnut mare Atomica has won back to back Horse of the Year awards. The announcement was made at Caymanas Park on Tuesday.
Atomica's outstanding achievements which saw her winning five races from 7 starts, cemented the Horse of the Year accolade for 2023, adding to her title for the previous year.
All five victories by the 5 year old chestnut mare last year came in trophy races which pushed her earning for the year to $6.3 million.
Mouttet Mile winner Rough Entry was voted first runner-up to the horse of the year and was also named the champion middle distance performer and champion foreign-bred runner. Jamaica Derby winner Ability was named second runner-up to the horse of the year.
Meanwhile, Raddesh Roman and Ryan Williams were named the most improved jockey and trainer respectively. The respective winners will be celebrated during this Saturday's programme at Caymanas Park.
