Aussies take unbeatable lead over Windies in T20I series

Australia scored a comprehensive 6 wickets win over the West Indies on Friday night at Warner Park in St Kitts, to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five match T20I series.

West Indies captain Shai Hope scored a maiden T20I century; however he was upstaged by a blistering century by Australia's Tim David.

Sent in to bat, the Caribbean side posted their best total of the series, 214 for 4, from their 20 overs. They were off to brilliant start, thanks to an opening stand of 125 between Hope and Brandon King.

Hope smashed 6-sixes and 8-fours in registering an unbeaten career-best and maiden T20I century of 102 from just 57 balls.

It was the first time a West Indian was scoring a T20I century against Australia. King supported with 62 from 36 balls, with 6-sixes and 3-fours. Sherfane Rutherford was run out for 12.

In reply, the Australians had a slight hiccup at 87-4 in the 9th over. However Tim David was in destructive mode, as he blasted the ball to all corners of the ground.

He registered the fastest T20I century by an Australian, as he got to his century in just 37 balls. He blitzed 11 sixes and 6 fours, in a destructive innings, which saw him take 28 off a Gudakesh Motie over.

Mitchell Owen supported with an unbeaten 36 from just 16 balls. The two shared in a unbroken fifth wicket partnership of 128.

Romario Shepherd ended with 2-39, as the Australians strolled to 215-4 from 16.1 overs. The fourth game will be played on Saturday night also at Warner Park.
