Bale in record transfer to Real Madrid

The summer's longest transfer saga is finally over. The much protracted move of Gareth Bale from Tottenham to Real Madrid was completed on Sunday and he was presented as a Real Madrid player on Monday.

Thousands of Real fans flocked to the Bernabeu to welcome Bale on his move from Tottenham. He's signed to the La Liga club on a six year contract.

“It’s an amazing league, they play great football and I have always loved the way Real Madrid to this.  I have been following them all my life, I have lived for football, especially Spanish football.  Yeah I think I had the shirt when I was nine or ten years old, and I followed them til now, and now its absolutely dream come through to be here and I can't wait to put on the white strips,” Bale added.  

After the Spanish Club paid Spurs a world record 100m Euros for the 24 year. Bale has signed a 6 year deal with Madrid and is expected to be presented to the media and the fans on Monday.

Bale’s impressive displays for spurs earned him PFA Footballer of the Year awards in 2011 and 2013, with his final season at White Hart Lane yielding 21 goals in 34 Premier League games.

The deal surpassed the £80 million paid for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2010.
