Jamaica suffered a heavy 9 wicket defeat to Barbados in their opening match of the West Indies Cricket Board, WICB Under -19 one day tournament in Guyana.
Chasing 156 for victory, Barbados easily achieved victory at 156-1 off 40.4 overs.
Captain Kriag Braithwaite with an unbeaten 84 and Kyle Hope 47 not out shared in an unbroken 132 run 2nd wicket stand to carry the Bajans to victory.
Earlier Jamaica were restricted to 155-9, Aldaine Thomas top scored with 38 against Anthony Alleyne 4 for 23.
