Baugh left out of Jamaica's Super50 squad

Wicket keeper Carlton Baugh Jr. has been dropped from Jamaica’s squad for the Nagico Super50 tournament, starting on January 16. He’s been replaced by Horace Miller.

Baugh, 32, has played 103 limited overs matches for Jamacia, during which he has accounted for 131 dismissals.

Chadwick Walton, the other experienced wicket keeper/batsman, had informed the selectors that he would not be available as he will represent the Combined Campuses and Colleges during his studies at the Cave Hill campus of the University of the West Indies in Barbados.

The team will also be under a new leader in Nikkita Miller.

Miller, who has played 104 matches, taking 109 wickets, replaces David Bernard Jr., who led the team last season.

Dennis Bully, a former youth representative, who now plays for the Jamaica Defence Force, is said to be among the 14 players, who have been named for the tournament.

All rounder Derval Green, who played for the University Dynamites in the JCA/T20 Premier League, has also been included.

Batsman Danza Hyatt, who was dropped by the selectors last season has regained his place in the squad, after leading Spanish Town Titans to the JCA/T20 title.

Medium pacer Gavon Brown will also be among the new faces in the team.

Pacer Krishmar Santokie is currently struggling with a back problem and was not considered for selection.

Jamaica's first match of the campaign will be on January 16 against the Leeward Islands, at Queen's Park Oval.
