2011 world 100 metres champion Yohan Blake is no longer being conditioned by renown sprint coach and president of the Racers Track Club Glen Mills. Hours after the Gleaner first reported that Blake, the joint second fastest man of all times with 9.69 seconds, Mills speaking with RJR Sports by telephone, confirmed the split but did not give any details.
Patrick Dawson, the Technical Director at the University of the West Indies-based club, confirmed he has been coaching Blake, the 2012 London Olympics sprint double silver medallist for the last month. Dawson, who previously coached Britain's Zarnel Hughes at the Racers Track Club, says will now oversee all aspects of Blake's training program.
The split ended, a 10-year association with Mills, who previously conditioned the 29-year-old Blake to the second fastest 200 of all time with 19.26secs from 2011.
