1998 Reggae Boyz World Cup hero Deon Burton sees no reason the current squad cannot qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and says he's ready to help local players in the long run. Burton is hoping the Reggae Boyz can engineer another grand entrance to football's show piece event, adding that the natural fighting spirit of the nation should be used as a galvanizing agent.
The 43 year old Burton who is now the assistant manager for West Bromwich Albion's Under 23 squad, pointed out that he's eager to aid in football development on the island. urton scored 13 goals in 62 games for the Reggae Boyz including four in the final round of qualifying for the 1998 World Cup. He was speaking on Hitz 92 FM's Sports Explosion on Friday.
