Jamaica's John Campbell and Brandon King are set to be named in the West Indies test squad to face world number one Australia in a three test series, which bowls off on June 25 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
Radio Jamaica Sports also understands that white ball captain Shai Hope is expected to be named in the squad, almost four years after his last test match against Sri Lanka in December 2021.
Campbell's inclusion comes weeks after Cricket West Indies (CWI) confirmed that the Jamaica opener was one of six players interviewed for the test captaincy, before Roston Chase received the nod.
However, it is not clear whether Campbell's recall for the first time since June 2022 series against Bangladesh, means that fellow opener Mikyle Louis will be dropped.
For the 30 year old King, who averages 34.52 in 42 first class matches, this will be his maiden test call-up.
Guyanese right-handed batsman Kevlon Anderson scored 573 runs at an average of 71.62 in this season's West Indies Championship will also receive his maiden call-up to the test squad.
CWI is also expected to announce the test squad on Tuesday with former skipper Kraigg Brathwaite, Shamar Joseph, Jomel Warrican and Justin Greaves all expected to retain their spots. The test squad is set to participate in camp in Barbados from June 13-21.
