Campion College and Hydel High are the latest qualifiers for the quarter final round of the ISSA Manning Cup with victories on Friday. They joined early qualifiers Mona High, Kingston College, Excelsior and St Catherine High in the last eight.
With Mona High already securing one spot from Group 1, the fight for the other place was between Campion College and St George's College.
Campion recorded a 1-0 win over St Jago, with Nicholai Banton scoring the all-important goal on the stroke of half time.
St George's challenge came to nought, as they were beaten 3-0 by Mona.
Over Group 3, last year’s beaten finalist Hydel High who had to beat Wolmer's to progress, scored a 1-0 win, thanks to a first half goal from skipper Ronaldo Barrett. STATHS failed to advance, despite clipping Kingston College 1-0.
The competition continues on Saturday with Tivoli High and Eltham meeting in a crucial game to see who joins Excelsior from the Group 2.
Former champions Jamaica College must avoid defeat against St Catherine High or hope for a Charlie Smith win over Calabar High.
