Anil Roberts, the Minister of Sports in Trinidad and Tobago, has called for CARICOM to intervene in the crisis affecting West Indies cricket.
Following losses to an India second string team in the one off twenty/20 and the first one day international game, Mr. Roberts revealed that he is preparing a brief for Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar on the situation with West Indies cricket, which he hopes to present to her in three weeks.
Mr. Roberts said he is asking the prime minister to call on her regional counterparts for an emergency meeting of Caribbean prime ministers, to treat with the dwindling fortunes of West Indies cricket.
He also knocked the West Indies Cricket Board saying it has clearly lost sight of the plot, and the board does not seem to have a clue about how to rescue West Indies cricket.
