President of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), Randolph "Randy" Harris, maintains that the introduction of a Caribbean Premier League football competition remains a priority in the region in the near future.
With CONCACAF expected to receive more spots for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the CFU boss is on a mission to help improve the competitiveness of Caribbean teams with the introduction of the Caribbean Premier League.
Despite not having a specific timetable, Harris is seeking to have the league in place before 2025 so that domestic players will get more competitive action which will aid the growth of national teams.
General Manager of Harbour View Football Club, Clyde Jureidini feels the CPL can be new avenue for players.
Meanwhile, president of Boys’ Town FC, Andrew Price also feels the CPL could benefit players locally. The Caribbean Premier League is expected to start with a 20 team format.
