Champion trainer to saddle the favourite in Caymanas Park feature

The Wayne DaCosta-trained Fearless Champion is the 9-5 overnight favourite for the 4th running of the Front Runner Sprint, a Maiden Special Weight contest for native bred two year olds going five and a half furlongs at Caymanas Park on Saturday. The two year old roan colt, who is given the nod over the other seven horses in the field, has gone toe to toe with his more experienced stablemate Tomohawk at exercise and is coming along nicely.

Fearless Champion will be challenged by the likes of Anthony Nunes bay filly Versatile Vision who will be looking to go one better than she did on debut, with first time lasix administered.

Also hoping to do better than his second place debut run on August 10,  is the Lorenzo Robinson owned and trained Powerman who will lose the visor for this trip. The others in the field which is set to face the starter at 1:35 pm are Above And Beyond", Nipster, Task Force, Big Mama and Chanae.

Meanwhile, the 2-1 ante-post favourite Summer Sun is seeking back to back victories in the Overnight Allowance contest going over the circular nine course. The imported three year old chestnut colt recently won in this company going seven furlongs and having worked well, could repeat.

The imported My Elle Belle is back in Overnight company after finishing fourth in the Invitational Mile and will prove to be a handful. Also back in this company after his run in the Superstakes is Uncle Vinnie who will also put up a fight. Another horse of note in this field is 2018 St Leger winner Marquesas.

The 4 year old bay colt is out for the second time after a nine month layoff and would have benefitted from his 2019 debut run on July 10. 9 horses are set to line up at 2:15 pm. First post for the 10 race card is noon. Live racing coverage will be on Hitz 92 FM.
