Clarendon College and Cornwall College into DaCosta Cup last eight

Defending champions Clarendon College made their way into the last eight of the ISSA DaCosta Cup, as their 100 percent win record in the competition came to an end on Saturday.

The Lenny Hyde-coached team had to come from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with former champions Cornwall College who made progress on goal scored over St Elizabeth Technical High School.

STETHS missed out on last eight following a goalless draw with Mile Gully High.

Over in Group 2, Manchester High joined BB Coke as the qualifiers following their comfortable 2-0 win over Happy Grove at home.

BB Coke consolidated their position at the top of the group by crushing Tacky 4-0 to make it three wins from three.

In Group 3 Dinthill Technical and Christiana High waltzed into the quarter-finals. Dinthill came from behind to edge William Knibb 2-1, while Christiana blanked McGrath High 2-0.

In Group 4, the Clarendon duo of Glenmuir and Garcey Maceo made their passage into the next round with victories.

Garvey Maceo drubbed Port Antonio 4-1, while Glenmuir clipped Frome Technical 2-1.

For the quarter final round holders Clarendon College, Glenmuir High, Manchester High and Christiana High are in one group, while the other group has BB Coke, Dinthill Technical, Cornwall College and Garvey Maceo.
