National discus record holder Fedrick Dacres says he is still recovering psychologically from the knee surgery he did at the end of last season. The national record holder who had his best season in 2018, finishing second in the world with a personal best 69.67 metres, won at the intercollegiate championships at the weekend, throwing 65.17 metres.
But the 25 year old says he's still having to overcome mental obstacles as he tries to get back into top shape after knee surgery late last year. Dacres so far has a best of 67.14 metres done at the King of the Ring meet at Excelsior High school in April, but the 65.14 represents the truest reflection of his current form as it wasn't done in an open air arena.
