The Gary Subratie-trained Digital One with former champion jockey Dane Dawkins aboard, made a winning seasonal debut by capturing the SVREL 8th Anniversary Trophy over 5 and a half furlongs, the feature event on Saturday's 9-race card at Caymanas Park.
Digital One who was sent off as the 9-2 fourth choice in the field of six, stalked long time leaders California Crown and Bootylicious before taking over in deep stretch to record a convincing victory.
The 4 year old American-bred bay filly covered the distance in a minute, six seconds flat, winning by 5 and a quarter lengths.
Elsewhere on the programme, the supporting feature, the International Women's Day Trophy for Overnight Allowance runners over 9 furlongs and 25 yards saw Geolithic going all the way in a mild upset at 10-1 under visiting Panamanian jockey Ismael Velasquez for trainer Peter John Parsard.
3-time former champion trainer Anthony "Baba" Nunes had a triple on the programme closed out by the 5-1 chance Smart Trick with 2-time former champion Shane Ellis aboard in the 9th and final event. Racing continues next Saturday.
