DIRECTV, one of the world’s leading providers of digital television, announced on Wednesday that it has acquired the exclusive Caribbean media rights to FIFA events across all platforms from 2015 through 2022. These include the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015™, the 2018 FIFA World Cup™, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019™ and the 2022 FIFA World Cup™, among other FIFA events.
The agreement includes exclusive, all platform media rights for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 in Canada, the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ in Russia, the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, FIFA Confederations Cup and all FIFA Under-20 and Under-17 World Cup matches in this time period in the territories of Antigua & Barbuda, Anguilla, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Lucia, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Vincent, Surinam, Trinidad & Tobago and the Turks and Caicos.
